I do my learning amongst the tall trees
I philosophise while the daisies swoon
I contemplate my studies while the dandelions roar
Butterflies flutter by while my thoughts wander
The river runs when ideas float through my head
I touch the sky everyday and whisper to the wind
The Earth is my school
And the lessons are never dull
The sky is the board upon which I gaze
A stump is sometimes the chair I use
I breathe in knowledge while the birds soar above
While the leaves touch the ground
While the puddles glisten
And the snails leave their gentle trails
The Earth is my school
And without it I would be lost
It has taught me to look
It has encouraged me to listen
It has shown me how to appreciate
It has slowed me down and guided my way
It often reminds me that miracles are constantly in front of our eyes
That life is all around us
That we live in a place more beautiful than we can imagine
That we are all connected
The earth is my school
And today she taught me to forgive
If the earth can forgive us
If she can heal when we have treated her badly
Then so can I
I forgive all those who have hurt me
And like the earth I hope they forgive me too
I love you
I’m sorry
Forgive me
Thank you
The Earth is my school
And I love my school dearly
I will be forever grateful for this school of mine and all her priceless lessons
